How Prices Move Here

Why the prices and sizes on this Funna catalogue drift, and how often they are refreshed Part of the Funna wardrobe of princess dress costumes.

Every card on this site shows a price and a row of sizes. Both are snapshots, and it is worth knowing exactly how stale a snapshot can be.

Where the numbers come from

Prices, stock and size options are read from the live listing at the moment I rebuild the site. They are written into the page as plain text, which means they stop updating the instant the build finishes. A card that says a dress is in stock in 5T is telling you it was in stock in 5T when the page was made.

How often that happens

I rebuild when enough has changed to be worth it, which in practice means every few weeks and more often around October, when costume stock moves fastest. There is no live feed on this site and there is not going to be one — a static page that is honest about being a snapshot is better than a dynamic one that is wrong in a more convincing way.

Which number to trust

The listing, always. If the price on a card here and the price on the listing disagree, the listing is correct and my page is out of date. The same goes for sizes: a chip row here is a record of what was available, not a promise of what is available now.

Why prices move at all

Costume pricing is seasonal and it is sharp. The same gown can cost noticeably more in the second half of October than it did in August, and some sizes sell out entirely and come back at a different price. If you are buying for Halloween, buying early is usually cheaper and always calmer.

Telling me

A message saying that a particular card is wrong is genuinely useful, because a stale card is the one failure of this site that I cannot see from where I sit. The address is on the contact page.

Where this sits among the Funna princess dress costumes

The wardrobe is small on purpose. I would rather keep two dozen Funna princess dress costumes for girls properly described than list two hundred and let them rot. Each was collected, read against its own listing and designed to be understood in a minute, including how the hem runs and how the lining feels against the everyday clothes worn underneath. If a dress stops being worth its money it leaves the shelf, however beautiful it looks in the photograph, and whatever the birthday calendar says.

What a gown is really for is the pretend hour. The kingdom gets built on the stairs, the queen gives orders to the cat, and a personality nobody has met before explores the hallway. Dress-up play of that sort feeds imagination better than most toys, and it does not stop at Halloween — birthday parties and ordinary enchanted afternoons take the magical part just as seriously.

This wardrobe carries no ads and is run by one person, which is why styles can take a week to appear and a day to vanish. Find the right size, have fun, and trust imagination to supply the rest of the kingdom.
