Every Twirl Counts

Accessibility of this site and how to report a barrier Part of the Funna wardrobe of princess dress costumes.

This site is plain HTML with a stylesheet and one short script. That is not an accident — it is the simplest way to make something that works on old browsers, on slow connections and with assistive technology.

What is built in

Every page has one first-level heading and a nested heading structure underneath it. Every photograph has descriptive alternative text naming the garment and its colour. The skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content. The buttons that open product listings are real buttons and can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.

Colour and text

Body text is dark brown on white and tested to meet the contrast ratio recommended for normal text. No information on this site is carried by colour alone — stock state, for instance, is written in words as well as shown in colour. Text can be enlarged in the browser to twice its size without any page losing content or scrolling sideways.

Motion and sound

There is none. Nothing moves on its own, nothing plays, nothing pops up over what you are reading, and nothing counts down. Pages do not shift around as they load.

Where it is weaker

The product photographs come from the brand and I cannot caption what is inside them beyond naming the garment. Some product tables are wide and will scroll within their own box on a narrow phone. Quoted reviews keep whatever punctuation their authors used, which a screen reader may read oddly.

Report a barrier

If something here blocks you, write to the address on the contact page and describe what happened and what you were using. Specific reports get fixed; general ones are much harder to act on. I would rather hear about it than not.

Where this sits among the Funna princess dress costumes

Everything on this desk was collected from one place: the shelves of Funna princess dress costumes that girls, and a fair number of grown-ups, wear for real. A costume is not an everyday garment. It is designed to be worn hard for one afternoon, photographed, and hung up again until the next birthday. So the cards here say how a dress feels after an hour of running about, not only how beautiful it looks on a hanger.

What a gown is really for is the pretend hour. The kingdom gets built on the stairs, the queen gives orders to the cat, and a personality nobody has met before explores the hallway. Dress-up play of that sort feeds imagination better than most toys, and it does not stop at Halloween — birthday parties and ordinary enchanted afternoons take the magical part just as seriously.

This wardrobe carries no ads and is run by one person, which is why styles can take a week to appear and a day to vanish. Find the right size, have fun, and trust imagination to supply the rest of the kingdom.
